Types of licenses

USB Dongle License Vs Digital License

USB Dongle licenses are physical USB devices to plug into computer. This type of license does not require an internet connection for normal usage; you only need it when writing license renewals to the USB key. USB dongles are recommended if you do not have access to the internet from your workstation.

On the other hand, with digital licenses, the license is not a physical device plugged into your PC but is a license linked to your My Sci-Compiler account, so an internet connection is required to use them. Digital licenses can be shared with a Team. They are linked to your My Sci-Compiler account, allowing you to easily move them from one PC to another.

SMART vs PRO

SMART licenses are delivered exclusively with the Sci-Compiler SMART kit and cannot be purchased separately. This type of license works only with the DT1260 board. Learn more about Sci-Compiler SMART Kit.

PRO licenses grant access to work with all Sci-Compiler supported boards. They can be purchased separately from a specific board.

Remote services

Remote services are a set of features that allow you to track projcets versions and compile your code on the cloud (Learn more about remote services). This feature is available for all valid licenses, including trial licenses.
